IN-CHARACTER INFORMATION

Name: Damon Salvatore

Fandom: The Vampire Diaries (TV SHOW)

Age: 172

Canon Point: Post season 2

Original Universe or Alternate Universe?: Original Universe

Personality: Damon is layers upon layers of a complicated vampire package. He's the first to admit he's a cocky asshole, he knows he looks good, and he usually uses that to his advantage in manipulating people as an up standing citizen do gooder who happens to be from a founding family bloodline. He managed to weasel his way into the Council by his skills as a manipulator, no one saw through the charade for a long time. He also likes to play Devil's advocate and take control at times, putting all the pieces in place and knocking them down, making him a catalyst in certain situations.

He's sarcastic, mocking and incredibly self-serving for the most part. He mocks the pain of others, not seeming to care about their plights or hardships, he seems to show no remorse most of the time and this leaves people infuriated with him. He is also incredibly nosy, usually in the business of those he seems to care about like Elena, Liz and others. He doesn't care if it annoys them that he's in their business, and tries to fix things despite his dickish personality. He is also very playful when he isn't being sarcastic and an asshole, it's almost boyish really.

Damon is easily angered (fueled partly by pride) by those that threaten him or those he seems to care about, he is impulsive in this sense but also has great self-control when the situation calls for it. Some might call him a crazy impulsive vampire as Klaus once put it, he wouldn't be wrong because when Damon let's go and allows his nature to take over, it's something fierce and animal that claws away at his insides, forcing it's way out and taking control when he allows it. He also ruthless, he won't hesitate to kill a threat, or harm someone who he feels has done him wrong, he'll snap necks and drain blood with a snap second with no remorse or because it's just fun.

He has convictions, when he feels he's right about something, he doesn't let no matter what anyone else says but there are times he is wrong. He is also vengeful in the same sense, as those who harm him or harm those he seems to care about, well, usually he goes after them and threatens them. He means bodily harm and he will do it if the situation calls for it. He's also not afraid of going up against tougher enemies, not that he has a death wish but he'll go in, consequences be damned.

He has no qualms about using humans like puppets by compelling them, he seems to do this most often for the benefit of himself for the most part, but also for those he may care about. It also depends on the person. For example, he wouldn't compel Elena while in Georgia because he wanted their time together to be real, but he compelled Andi because Damon doesn't care if it's real or not, despite the fact that she cared about him.

Deep down, Damon really does care. He can't switch off his emotions like he says vampires can, it's difficult for him. He likely cares more than most people do but he hides it underneath a facade of his asshat personality. Another part of him just wants to be loved in return by someone he truly cares about and it be only him, but he knows he's not that lucky and he feels like he doesn't deserve it anyway for all the bad he's done in his long life. So he plays it off like he doesn't care. A part of him also wishes to be human again, because the vampiric impulse is so strong, to kill is in his nature and the fact that some people want him to choose good, makes him a torn vampire.

Damon in love is an obsessed vampire, especially about protecting that person. Currently that person is Elena and he's doing everything he can to keep her safe, but also willing to go to great lengths to see her happy. If that means she's with his brother, he won't stand in the way. He already once said to Elena, whom he compelled after, that He's in love with her but Stefan deserves her, Damon doesn't and because of that he won't stand in the way unlike how it was with Katherine and how he wanted her love selfishly to himself.

Is this character immune?: Yes. Mostly because he's a vampire.

Background: Life is never easy in the 1800's, unless you're rich like the Salvatores. Damon was born into wealth, and status as the first born son of Giuseppe and Lily Salvatore on June 18, 1841. Damon was a sweet and playful child, he had plenty of playmates but it wasn't until later that he got his closest playmate: his brother Stefan. From Stefan's birth, the two were inseparable. Damon not only saw him as a playmate but a bestfriend, and in their youth they were always so willing to get into hijinks around their hometown, Mystic falls. Damon never minded that Stefan was eight years younger, he adored his little brother and loved him fiercely.

That all changed in 1864 with the arrival of Katherine Pierce, a socialite and woman of great beauty. Katherine was the catalyst to driving Damon and Stefan apart by jealousy and secrets. Damon fell in love with Katherine, his devotion an obsession with the woman but Stefan was in love with her too. She was playing both of them and she was so intriguing, so beautiful while being a complicated mix of selfish and lovely that neither brother pushed her away despite knowing they were both her pets.

During this time, Damon joined the confederate army, but it didn't last long as he deserted his station to spend more time with her. It's no surprise really that reacted calmly when she revealed her true nature, that of a vampire. For weeks he allowed her to feed off him, and he drank her blood in return. He didn't have to be compiled. And it would have went on until Katherine decided it was time for him to die and complete the transformation but the town's people, the secret council where his father resided as one of the people in charge, had other ideas.

The town's people were out for blood, Stefan wanted to reveal Katherine's nature to their father, thinking it would make him have some semblance of sympathy for their beloved but Damon pleaded with him not to. Unfortunately, Stefan showed sympathy for vampires to their father and drank with the man, only to end up being bitten later and having Katherine grow sick at the Vervain in Stefan's blood. Damon was furious with his brother for letting Katherine be dragged off to her death. They argued for a few but eventually decided on a plan to free her.

Stefan lead a distraction, while Damon released her from the carriage that held her. Damon unbounded her, and Stefan came back around to help. Except, nothing ever goes as planned. Damon was shot in the chest and Stefan soon after. They died that night and were seen as Vampire sympathizers as Katherine was dragged off once again. Emily Bennett would come to their rescue and bring them to her home, where both brothers reanimated and now had to feed on human blood.

Damon had no interest in becoming a vampire anymore. He was desolate and depressed over Katherine's supposed death, the love of his life or so he thought back then, had become a hollow sadness in his chest. He planned to die, that's all he wanted but Stefan apparently had other plans. Their father attacked Stefan when he went back home, and he had no choice but to retaliate, in the end he drank.

Damon couldn't resist the call of blood, as Damon brought him a gift in the form of a woman and forced him to drink. Afterward, Damon told Stefan that he had got what he wanted but their life as bestfriends and brothers was to end, because Damon would make it an eternity of misery. A promise he intended to keep.

Damon stuck with Stefan for a little bit afterward, watching as his brother went through kill after kill, sating his bloodlust. Damon was the good brother back then, he didn't want to draw attention or kill humans at his every whim. Stefan was a ripper as Lexi put it and soon after the female vampire entered their lives, Damon packed up and left town, leaving his brother behind. However, he did keep tabs on Stefan and followed him around, even if his baby brother didn't see him. Mostly Damon traveled through out the years and eventually gave into his more carnal desires, leaving bodies in his wake but no one was the wiser to him.

Part 2

In 2010, Damon followed Stefan to Mystic Falls. He saw Stefan's interest in Elena, and went about making threats not only for the sheer fun of it, but to also see Stefan suffer and worry his little heart out. With his arrival, were the dubbed animal attacks as he also went after Vicki Donovon. Next, Damon went after Caroline Forbes and while they were having a bit of naughty fun, he bit her, drinking her blood and then compelled her to be alright with it all and keep his secret. Damon couldn't help himself as he went about telling Elena about Stefan's ex, Katherine. Of course, what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her at that moment but he knew eventually it would and thus make her distrust Stefan. However, Elena surprises him and asks which one of the brothers were with her first and she tells him she's sorry, because he lost her too.

It's the first time with Elena, later that night, that he tries to compel her to kiss him. It doesn't work however as she's wearing a Vervain necklace, and he ends up getting slapped. Damon also runs into Stefan that night, and Stefan claims that Damon still has his humanity left. To spite him, Damon drained the coach of the Mystic Fall Highschool football team. Much later that night, as Elena sleeps, Damon watches her sleep. Something in her draws him to her, and he can't shake the feeling that would spiral out of control later down the road.

Damon continues to torment Stefan, first with a dream of him killing Elena. Anyway to harm his brother, and make his life a living hell. After all, he did profess a lifetime of misery. Stefan stabs him in the chest, Damon denies he's hurt by it and says he deserves it. He has been an asshat afterall. Later on however, he stabs Stefan back for ruining his expensive shirt. Damon however has plans, and that's to stay in town for a while longer. He ends up using a mountain lion as a cover up for the attacks. Later he reveals to a compelled Caroline that he intends to kill her, but not at the moment.

Zach Salvatore approaches him and asks why he's in Mystic Falls, as Damon always seems to have an ulterior motive. Damon isn't pleased with this and threatens his remaining human family member but Stefan breaks up the party and saves Zach for the time being. Before the Founder's party, Stefan spikes the alcohol with Vervain but Damon is wise to it, now angry with his brother and goes to the party, alluding to the fact he might do something reckless like hurt someone.

At the party, he finds Elena interested in the lineage list of the founders of Mystic Falls. To get Elena alone, he compels Caroline into asking Stefan to dance while he tells Elena the tale of a beloved (Katherine), dying in the church via fire. Damon leaves Elena and ends up with Caroline again, taking her upstairs to grab a brown gem from a locked chest. Elena finds out about Caroline's bite marks and threatens to go to Sherrif Forbes. Caroline's mother. So enraged he takes Caroline out by the lake, and tells her he's over her and ends up drinking her blood. Her blood however turns out to be spiked with Vervain, and he falls unconscious.

He wakes up in the cell underneath the Salvatore Mansion. Stefan tells him he's trapped in there for good until he mummifies because it's for his own good. Damon grows weak the longer he's trapped in there, but he tries to compel Caroline from far away as he's made a weak connection with her mentally. He finally manages to get her to come, and Zach tries to stop her, only Damon gets loose and snaps Zach's neck. Still, he's weak and he can't walk in the sun because his ring is gone. He waits till night fall and attacks a group of party goers in the cemetery, which includes Vicki Donovon, who he spares because she just doesn't want to die it seems.

Damon demands his daylight ring back from Stefan, and threatens Elena's life in the process. Meanwhile he and Vicki have a little party to themselves where he feeds her his blood so she'll heal and eventually be turned into a vampire. While they're dancing, he snaps her neck and when she wakes up, he tells her to complete the transformation into a vampire she must feed, only she freaks out on him and leaves. Later on, Damon finds his brother being attacked by Logan Fell, to which Damon kills the man and helps Stefan by taking the wooden bullet from his body. He then demands his ring back. Vicki is there with him and ends up feeding on Logan Fell, which means she's finally completed the transition, not that Damon cares or anything.

While Stefan tries to help the newborn vampire Vicki, he's busy trying to get information after wondering who is covering up Logan's death since it's not in the newspaper. He sits down with Carol Lockwood and tries to compel her but she has Vervain in bracelet. Therefore he manipulates her the old fashioned way and talks about the Vervain Zach is keeping. She mentions the Town Council and Damon's interest grows from there, however she shuts down about it after she releases enough to keep him digging. Damon also finds out that the council is searching for vampires, and anyone that showed up at the Founder's party was knocked off the list of suspects. Afterward he takes Carol to the school and runs into Bonnie who is wearing his necklace. Bonnie refuses to give it back and Damon tries to take it, only instead it burns him and Bonnie runs away.

Damon gets a call from his brother, telling him Vicki is dead. He shows up to take care of the body, where he finds Elena next to her body. She seems angry by his calm attitude toward the situation and ends up trying to hit him, only he catches her hand and tells her she needs to leave because of her blood leaking from her wounds. Later, he shows up at Elena's and asks if she wants Jeremy to forget what happened that night. She agrees and he does as asked.

Damon finds out Lexi, Stefan's bestfriend, is in town, and saddles up next to her in bed. She's not happy to see him and comments he's only the bad parts of a vampire. Which he doesn't deny, but moves closer for her only to pin him down to the bed. Basically if he ruined her time with Stefan, she will hurt him. Later on, to further implement himself into the council, he delivers Vervain to Sheriff Forbes' office. Damon makes his time there worth it to find himself a spot in their hands. He then finds Caroline at school and compels her to throw a party, to which he invites Stefan and Lexi to. To really get himself in the Council Circle, he attacks a couple, killing a boy and then compeling the survivor to say Lexi is the culprit. Those in the council inject her with Vervain, but Lexi fights back and Damon stakes her, winning Sheriff Forbes' favor in the process. She calls him a hero. Stefan doesn't like this and attacks Damon with a stake to the stomach. Stefan tells him he's spared because Damon saved his life, but they're through now.

Damon regrets killing Lexi, he truly does and tries apologizing to his brother. Stefan acquiesces to his apology or seems to as he asks his brother why he's returned to Mystic Falls. Damon doesn't cave and leaves, though his plot is only to release Katherine from the tomb underneath the remains of the church. He encounters Bonnie later on, and tells her he basically knows Emily is haunting her, to deliver a message that a deal's a deal. Then he goes to the Mystic Grill where he comments that Stefan's personality is lesser place. They have a game of darts and Stefan still tries to get him to reveal his secret but Damon refuses to budge. During a game of football, they lay in the grass and Stefan attempts convincing Damon that their love for Katherine was false. Damon finally tells the truth and says he returned to bring Katherine back. His love obviously hadn't diminished for her after so long.

Later that night, Emily possesses Bonnie and throws Damon into a tree where he's speared by a sharp branch. Stefan saves him and learns in shock that Emily saved twenty seven other vampires that are locked away in the tomb, which is the very reason she destroys the crystal in front of his very eyes. Emily leaves Bonnie's body, but Damon is beyond pissed off and bites Bonnie anyway. He sits by the church and stares off into space sadly, his love for Katherine still hasn't lost it's weight for him and now there's a chance he'll never see her again.

Damon and Stefan decide to leave Mystic Falls, but Damon has an amused attitude about the whole thing. Sheriff Forbes shows up and tells him that there was another vampire attack, so he gets Caroline by Compelling to use Jonathan Gilbert's compass to find the vampire. It locates to a warehouse and when Damon enters, he is shot several times by Logan Fell, using wooden bullets. Logan wants to know how to walk in the sun and Damon refuses to tell him. Damon calls his brother, and the two team up to go after Logan, who has kidnapped Caroline, wanting to turn her into a vampire. Logan reveals information about the tomb and as Sheriff Forbes shows up, he tells the other vampire to make it look real so they can meet up later. When he does so, he gets shocking call from Liz Forbes, informing him about Logan's body.

Damon ever the stalker, finds Elena crashed in her SUV and takes her on a roadtrip to Georgia. He takes her to a past love interest's bar, a woman named Bree and he reveals that he's known here for about twenty years or so. She's also a witch. Elena leaves on the phone, and Damon questions Bree about another way to open the tomb but apparently there isn't one, which he finds disappointing. Elena and Damon bond meanwhile, him explaining vampire traits such as being able to eat but not being able to have children. Elena, however, disappears and Damon goes looking for her, only to fall into a trap set up by Lexi's vengeful boyfriend. Who also happens to be a vampire. Elena saves Damon's life by begging for it and asking the vampire not to kill Damon. Damon realizes he was set up by Bree, and goes back to rip her heart out of her chest. Damon then reveals to Elena, despite not having her Vervain necklace, he never compelled her because he wanted their time together to be real.

Part 3

Damon is then approached by Alaric at the fifties themed highschool dance, where Alaric asks a series of personal questions that get too close for comfort. Later on, Damon tells Stefan and Elena that they need Jonathan Gilbert's journal because it will hold the location of the Grimoire. Much later, Damon ends up talking to Jenna at Elena's house and when the girl in question arrives, he asks her if he can trust Stefan with the help of opening the tomb and finding the journal. He does it without mockery or sarcasm, because a part of him feels he can trust Elena.

The journal of Jonathan Gilbert comes into question again as Stefan reveals that he can't find it, but Damon realizes that Jeremy knows where the journal is. He asks who the young man showed it to and Jeremy tells him about a girl named Anna. So, Damon takes Jeremy to meet her at the Mystic Falls Grill and Damon knows who Anna is. He attacks her, but they're matched in strength, so they let go of each other. Damon then realizes the Grimoire is in his father's grave. He finds Elena and Stefan digging it up, that they've gone against him and they're going to stop him from bringing Katherine back. Damon realizes he can only trust himself, but he is hurt by the fact that Elena fooled him. Damon threatens Elena's life, feeding her his blood and promises to turn her into a vampire. Stefan hands over the book and Damon gets what he wants.

Elena is kidnapped and Stefan wants his help, only Damon hopes she dies, particularly because she lied to him. He goes to Shelia Bennet's house to find Bonnie, only Bonnie is no where and Shelia threatens Damon, claiming she's not her granddaughter, her powers are far superior and she could hurt Damon if he tries anything. Damon and Anna come to a truce and work together after Anna threatens Elena's life, because you know, Damon doesn't want her dead despite his big talk. Elena comes to him later though, wanting to work together and takes off her Vervain necklace, so he knows she's not lying. She asks him why he didn't use compulsion in Georgia and Damon reveals he wanted to be real when they were bonding. He puts the necklace back on her and tells her he's going to trust her.

They go to the tomb, Bonnie, Shelia, Stefan, Elena and Damon. The Tomb opens and Damon takes Elena with him to insure that he can come back out. Elena, ever self-less wants to go with him because she seems to believe that love can conquer all. He searches the tomb but can't find Katherine. He throws the blood bag against the wall, enraged. He feels numb by the time he leaves, and Elena hugs him but he doesn't hug back. Later, he confronts Pearl and Anna at the motel, he finds out that Katherine got away and Anna let's him know that Katherine always knew where he was but just didn't care.

Damon plays up the only way he knows how. Constant intoxication and partying with compelled college girls. His brother confronts him and Damon just gives him a speech about freedom and that he's fine. Just perfectly fine. Stefan questions him about a woman named Isobel, but Damon says “Nothing is important. Not anymore.” Later, he speaks with Alaric and still feels suspicious of the man. Sheriff Forbes then asks him to be a eligible bachelor for the an auction. Later, Stefan questions him some more about Isobel and this time Damon realizes someone else must want to know. At the auction, Damon torments Alaric by saying very cad like things about Alaric's wife and making the man angry. Elena confronts him about it because she was her birth mother, which is a surprise. Then Alaric attacks him and Damon ends up stabbing him, killing him. Stefan arrives and he tells his brother it was self-defense, and leaves

Damon is later visited by Anna and Pearl, they fight but Pearl is stronger and he listens to her. She tells him that the twenty five vampires are living with them in a farmhouse, she also knows about the council and wants a list of names. She offers Katherine's location. He says doesn't want to see Katherine but to get him to agree, she pushes both his eyes in, threatening his life. After he heals, he is later attacked by Frederick and Bethanne, two vampires from the tomb, Stefan kills Bethanne, but Frederick runs.

Later on, Stefan goes missing. He goes to Elena's, worried about him and the two drive out to the farm house to get Stefan back. Damon can't enter however because of the human owner there. She was compelled to never let him in. Elena wants to enter, but he stops her because he wants her safe. Damon and Elena go to Alaric for help, where Damon lies and says Pearl might know about Isobel if he helps them. While they save his brother, Damon kills many vampires without injury to himself. Stefan and Elena leave, leaving Alaric and him behind to face the rest of the vampires but Pearl shows up and apologizes to them for her friends' transgressions and that they will be dealt with. Damon later admits to Alaric that he lied about Isobel and Alaric punches him in the face. When he goes home, he finds his brother devouring human blood. What a shocking discovery from straight laced Stefan.

He taunts his brother, trying to get him to drink blood to get his strength back. He even goes as far as leaving a glass of blood on a table and then runs back to get it with a smirk. He attends a town council meeting, where he meets John Gilbert, Elena's Uncle. A man Damon doesn't really like from the beginning. Elena invites Damon over to talk about Stefan and how long he had been the way he was. He tells her about her Uncle being about on the council and that Stefan is basically just a beast waiting to be let free.

Part 4

At the founder's day kick off party, John Gilbert reveals he knows what Damon is and Damon responds by snapping his neck and pushing him off the balcony. Later on, he sees John giving a speech and is shocked to learn that he's wearing the same ring as Alaric, which he points out to the man. John and Damon talk, John reveals he knows Katherine and he knows Isobel, he gave the ring to Isobel, the one Alaric wears. Much later, Damon continues to taunt Damon by leaving a glass of blood behind, and this time he leaves it for good.

John suggests that he and Damon work together to find out who's been stealing blood from the blood bank. Anna visits him later on, and he warns her about the Founder's council being knowledgeable to the tomb vampires. She says she hasn't been to the blood bank and the other vampires are gone. Damon goes home and finds Stefan drinking blood, not only that he has a freezer food. He was the thief but Damon couldn't be happier about it. John ends up going to the Salvatore Mansion to let Damon know he wants Jonathan Gilbert's device. He wants Damon to get it from Pearl but Damon doesn't want to help him. He, however, asks Anna about the device at the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant.

He also reveals to Elena about Stefan's fridge full of blood and Stefan disappears when it's time for the Pageant contestants to get going. Damon steps in to be her escort, and they have a rather pleasant dance, Damon actually being a gentleman and Elena not minding his presence. After the dance is over, they notice one of the contestants is missing and find his brother in the woods, feeding on Amber. Bonnie immobilizes Stefan but he ends up running away. Much later, Pearl gives Damon the device that was Jonathan Gilbert's. Elena subdues Stefan with Vervain and Damon carries him to the cellar prison and locks him inside. Elena wants to stay behind when Damon offers for her to come upstairs, so he ends up falling to the floor with her and staying there. His feelings for her getting stronger as the days go by.

Damon and Alaric go on a mission to find Isobel, only they run into a tomb vampire. The vampire reveals that John has been helping him assimilate to modern life and that they're keeping an eye on the other tomb vampires. They end up staking him and then have a conversation about their ex-lovers. Later, Damon returns to the house and Stefan approaches him, he tells him to stop feeling his guilt and that he hated him not because he forced him to turn but because Katherine turned him too. Damon thought Katherine's love was only for him. He had held out hope that it was the truth.

Damon stays outside with Alaric as Elena conversates with Isobel, worried about Elena. Damon explains to Alaric that Isobel has a switch and she can turn off her humanity, but he denies he has any of his left. Afterward, Damon goes to Isobel's home and plays strip poker with one of her charmed victims. She threatens him but Damon questions her about Jonathan Gilbert's device. She attempts kissing him but he pins her to the ground and threatens to rip her apart for what she said to Elena. He tells her to tell Katherine to come get the device herself.

Much later, Elena tries to get the device from Damon so Bonnie can cast a spell to render it useless,. Elena wants to trade the device for Jeremy, who has been kidnapped by the bitch. Even after Bonnie displays her powers to Damon, he admits he doesn't trust her but will trust Elena and gives her the device. When the trade with Isobel is made, Elena asks how she knew Damon would give her the device: her response? “Because he's in love with you.” After the exchange, he watches silently as Stefan and Elena hug, too many emotions he won't admit to going through his head. Later on, Stefan confronts Damon about his love for Elena, but appears fine with it, mostly because it appears he'll protect her, just like he will. Damon then reveals that John Gilbert is Elena's real father, and he's tickled pink that the others didn't figure it out.

On Founder's Day, Damon is shocked when Elena arrives looking just like Katherine. He then watches the parade and finds Bonnie, sincerely thanking her for de-spelling the Gilbert device. At the Mystic grill, he tells Elena he likes her better in normal clothing. Damon overhears her apologizing to eremy but Jeremy's response pisses him off to no end and he ends up following him outside. He tells him to give his sister a break, putting him in a choke hold and Stefan rescues Jeremy from Damon, insisting that his brother is only doing it for his own desires.

During the night of the founder's day celebration, Damon runs into Anna, who gives him a heads up about the tomb vampires making an attack on the founding families when the fireworks start. Damon finds Alaric the Stefan and Elena, warning them to leave the party as soon as possible. He finds John Gilbert setting up the device and discovers that Bonnie never took the spell off it. It makes him collapse, he's injected with Vervain and put in the basement of the Gilbert building to be burned alive. During that time, he finds out Mayor Lockwood was also affected by the device, and he watched Anna being staked. All he wanted to do was help her. And with Bonnie's help, Stefan manages to save Damon's life.

Afterward, he visits Jeremy to tell him about Anna's death. He reveals he wanted to help her, so much more than he thought possible and wonders if Jeremy wants his memory wiped again Jeremy tells him that he feels nothing inside, and being compelled won't fix anything. Damon also admits that what he did to Vicki was wrong ad says sorry for his part in it. When asked if Vampires can shut off their humanity, Damon told him the truth, not knowing that Jeremy planned to kill himself. As Damon leaves the house, he encounters Elena. He thanks her for seeing something in him worth saving, and after kissing her on the forehead, he really kisses her and she kisses back but then they're interrupted by Jenna. Who appears to be confused.

Damon finds out about Caroline's accident and goes to the hospital, concerned about the girl since she's Elena's friend. Liz informs him that the mayor was killed but he wasn't a vampire, even though Damon already knew that. He is interested in the fact that the Gilbert device affected the mayor and intends on finding out why. Elena arrives at the hospital and Damon tells her Bonnie doesn't know a spell to cure Caroline's devastated body, he then offers to give her blood so she'll heal. Elena turns down the idea but then Bonnie acquiesces. Damon then confronts Elena about their kiss, but she blows him off, claiming she has no idea what he's talking about. He grabs her arm and says if you want to forget about this But I can't. Jenna showed up and interrupted them once more. Only this time Damon realizes Katherine is back in town, it wasn't Elena he kissed.

He takes Elena back home, where Stefan is hiding out and just got in a skirmish with Katherine. The three sit down to discuss what happened, and Stefan asks what happened between Katherine and Damon for him to realize it wasn't Elena. He admits he kissed her, thinking she was Elena and Stefan goes on the attack. Elena stops them, saying she wouldn't do that. Damon then goes to the Lockwood Mansion and breaks up a fight between Carol and Liz. He sees Mason Lockwood afterward, and questions the sheriff about him. He's the mayor's brother, and knows nothing about the town council.

He later speaks to Elena, she asks him why he would think she'd do that? And Admittedly he's hurt that she wouldn't as his feelings for her are strong ones. Then much later he runs into his brother after Katherine stabs him and Stefan claims Katherine will drive a wedge between them, but Damon doesn't think that's possible anymore. In the night, Katherine comes back to the Salvatore Mansion and they share a kiss but Damon needs an answer to a burning question that's plagued him all along, so he stops her before they have sex. He asks her if she'll tell him the truth. Alluding to if she ever loved him. She tells him, no, it was always Stefan. It sends him into a spiral of emotions, mostly he's beyond hurt and desperate. He shows up at Elena's drunk and forces her to kiss him. She gives him the same exact line. It'll always be Stefan. He takes it out on Elena, by snapping Jeremy's neck, but realizes his mistake and Elena declares she hates Damon.

Sometime down the road, Carol Lockwood asks Damon to be the head of the council while she acts as Mayor for the town. He accepts, but Mason and Tyler Lockwood return and he listens to a conversation between the two about anger issues. At the carnival, Damon pits Damon against Mason and finds out he's supernaturally strong because Stefan had put up a decent fight afterall, so Damon compels someone to pick a fight with Tyler and finds that Mason has some kickass dodging skills. Later on Damon is approached by Caroline who is supernaturally strong and also a vampire, Damon goes to tell Elena, and his brother, and believes the only way to deal with Caroline's unfortunate situation is to stake her. So he locates her fairly easy and tries to stake her, only Stefan steps him and then when he tries once more, Elena steps in the way. For his caddish behavior Bonnie sets him on fire and Elena stops her from keeping it up. Damon returns home and finds out Jeremy is there, that he laced his alcohol with Vervain. Jeremy was going to kill him, but he thinks of the hatred his parents had for vampires and decides against it.

Isobel still has an office full of research, so Elena, Alaric and Damon decide to go to Duke University to check it out. When Stefan stays back to keep an eye on Caroline, Damon taunts him about it and so Elena does what she does best and kisses Stefan out of spite. Only, she doesn't realize he's gotten used to witnessing their kisses, it's just a tiny echo of pain now to watch. Damon tries lying to Elena and telling her that he knew Jeremy was wearing the ring but Elena doesn't seem to believe him. When hey arrive at Duke, Isobel's research assistant tries killing Elena as she believes she's Katherine. Damon takes the blow for Elena. Alaric then finds a book about something called The Sun and Moon Curse.' Which indicates vampires are only able to hunt at night and werewolves are only able to shift by the full moon. She also tells them that Werewolves hunt vampires, and that their bite is fatal to vampires.

Isobel's assistant also tells them she knows about Doppelgangers, which only intrigues Damon even more. He taunts with information he knows, well he claims to know. Elena tells him that friends are supposed to help each other, so he follows her out and hands her a book that has Katherine's true last name on it. He admits that he doesn't want to lose their friendship. When she asks him if he honestly knew Jeremy was wearing the Gilbert Ring, he apologizes and admits he didn't. Elena tells him he's lost her forever, because she manipulated him to get information about Katherine. Damon is hurt and tells her she and Katherine are a lot more alike than she thinks.

More about the Lockwood family comes as Damon shows up to the Gilbert house for a party. He taunts Mason with werewolf jibes, even going as far as depicting a werewolf in a tutu and attempting to serve him pie with a silver knife. Mason takes matters into his own hands and talks to Damon alone, wanting to make sure the age old rivalry with vampires is squashed between them. Damon however continues to mess with him, but eventually calls a truce, even though his intentions are impure. He takes a knife from the silver set at the Gilbert house and stabs Mason in the stomach. Mason heals but tells Damon he's made an enemy.

Damon listens to Stefan and Elena's fake fights, revealing he knows they're not real. He takes a cup of lemonade from a little girl and realizes it's spiked with Vervain once he hits the ground. Enraged, he attempts killing Mason but he and Stefan are shot with wooden bullets, falling into Liz Forbes' scheme. She takes them to the Lockwood Cellar to find out how they walk in the sun. Damon refuses to tell her, but he's hurt because he thought they were friends. Liz keeps shooting them with wooden bullets until Caroline saves them. Sheriff Forbes wants him to kill her, but Damon doesn't want to because they're friends, so they lock her up in the Salvatore cellar back at the house and wait for the Vervain to leave her system so they can compel her to forget they're vampires. Later in the living room, Elena and Damon run into each other. She tells him that him sparing Liz is more like the Damon she knows.

Down the road, Damon is approached by Jeremy, and he tells him that Mason is looking for something called the Moon Stone. Alaric comes and gives research from Isobel's office to Damon. Damon wants Jeremy to get the Moon Stone from Tyler, and then he learns that Mason and Katherine are together, so he suspects she wants the Moon Stone. Damon asks Bonnie to touch Mason to find out what he wants with it. Bonnie agrees to help him. She uses her magic on Mason and knocks him out long enough for Damon to take him to the Salvatore Mansion and chain him to a chair. Bonnie gets inside his head and finds out the Moon Stone is being kept in a well.

Damon then tortures Mason, he questions him about Katherine but Mason refuses to talk. Jeremy delivers Wolfsbane and Damon tortures Mason further. Mason reveals that Katherine wants to lift the Sun and Moon curse because she loves him which Damon doesn't believe for a second. After Jeremy leaves, Damon rips Mason's heart out of his chest, effectively killing him. Stefan arrives later to give Damon the Moonstone to hide. Jenna then stabs herself, Damon finds out and he goes to Elena to apologize for antagonizing Katherine.

The brothers plan on killing Katherine. They go to a masquerade ball, where she promises to meet them. They lock her in one of the rooms upstairs in the Lockwood Mansion and attack her viciously, even though earlier they thought how one of them might hesitate. Jeremy arrives however, and tells them that every thing they're doing to Katherine is hurting Elena, which stops them. Elena then attempts hurting herself to cause pain to Elena, to which the brothers stop her. She wants the Moon Stone back. She also tells Damon he used to be boring and tries to provoke them by pointing out Damon's love for Elena. Damon is easily angered, he is and attempts staking Katherine but Stefan stops him. Katherine doesn't stop though, because she wonders when Damon got so hot.

Katherine's witch appears and immobilizes her with the Moon Stone. Damon takes Katherine to the tomb, where he throws her and the Moon Stone inside. Katherine tries to stop him by saying Elena is in danger, he listens to her, stopped but shuts her inside anyway. Later, Damon goes to Caroline's house and finds out Tyler killed a girl. He asks Caroline what Tyler knows about him and Stefan, she says nothing and he tells her not to befriend him. Elena disappears, and Damon admits that Katherine knew she was in danger. They go rescue Elena, but Stefan tries to get him to admit it's only because he loves Elena.

The two brothers share a blood bag on the road, and Damon taunts him with his sordid past, wondering if Elena would feed her blood to the old Stefan. Then they get to where Elena is, and drive a stake through one of the Originals' hearts, Elijah. Damon watches as Elena comes down the stairs smiling, he smiles back but she goes directly to Stefan, which seems to hurt him somewhat. She however, mouths Thank you behind Stefan's back and Damon mouths You're welcome. Later on, back at home, Stefan approaches Damon and says they need to squash whatever it is between them and learn to work together to protect Elena. Baby brother then apologizes for turning Damon into a vampire. Damon is surprised by his words and this makes him to visit Elena, going into her room.

He has her necklace and he doesn't give it to her at first. Elena is hesitate about him speaking with her, but Damon just has a few things to say. He tells it's the most self-less thing he's ever had to say. He tells her that he is in love with her and because of that love, he feels Stefan deserves her more than he does. He then has tears in his eyes as he compels her to forget what's been said, even though he doesn't want her to.

When Rose shows up he doesn't trust her but she's come to tell him about a legendary vampire named Klaus that is after Elena. Damon doesn't want to believe Elena is in danger, but what's new, right? He spends the day with Rose, going to a coffee shop to speak with another vampire about Klaus. Slater seems to know a lot about Damon, which makes him suspicious of the other vampire. He also talks about a link he has to Elijah, that was broken once he died. He tells them that if Elijah wanted the moon stone, it was only to break the vampire side, not the werewolf side. Damon wonders how to break the curse but they're attacked by Elijah. Damon grabs Rose and carries her away from the sun before she burns to death. She tells them they're going to be killed by Klaus. Later, Rose apologizes for the attack, telling him she wishes to save Elena. She then says he can turn off his emotions, and they proceed to have sex. Afterward, Rose says having a switch is nothing more than a lie. Damon deep down knows that. More importantly Rose gets a call from Slater, who tells her he needs the moon stone to lift the curse and a witch to do the rest.

Stefan and Damon go to pay a visit to Katherine, seeing as the Moon Stone is in the tomb with her but she refuses to give it up unless they release her. They go to Elena's and explain the situation to her. They also tell her they need to release the spell from the Moon Stone so it loses it's power and Klaus won't sacrifice Elena. Elena tells them she doesn't want everyone she loves killed. Later Jeremy convinces them to let them to let him retrieve the moonstone. Damon gets a call from Rose because Elena plans to give herself over to Klaus.

Damon goes to her, she'd rather die than let Klaus kill the people she loves. He threatens her, grabbing her arm and she almost hits him, he tells her never to do it again. People arrive and Damon tries to protect her, even from Elijah. Elijah runs away and drives Elena home. When Elena gets home, they argue on the porch, they find an injured Jeremy, discovering that Stefan is stuck in the tomb with Katherine. Elena wants to go to him, but Damon stops her from entering. Stefan makes him promise to protect Elena while he's unable to.

Damon later visits Stefan to let him know they trapped Elena in her home. He tries to give his brother blood, but he refuses, because then he'll have to share with Katherine. He goes to Elena's house later to baby sit her, taunting her about wanting to leave. She's pissed at him but Damon continues to have a care free attitude about the situation. Alaric calls him, telling him about a woman from Florida who has come for Mason Lockwood. He meets Alaric at the Mystic Falls bar and meets the woman for himself.

Damon distracts her and Alaric puts Wolfsbane in her drink. Damon pretends he was friends with Mason to get her to talk, but she's suspicious anyway and doesn't fall for the drink. Damon threatens her but she responds that she's particulary strong in the lull of the full moon, like tonight. Alaric warns Damon to go home and stay inside, because once again, a werewolf bite is fatal to vampires. Rose and Damon are attacked by Jules back home, she bites Rose and Damon stabs her before she runs off. The bite heals, confusing the two of them. Rose is terrified and Damon comforts her. The two get into another sexcapade, but Damon notices her shoulder is infected. This is sad news for Damon, because they were just beginning their friendship.

Damon seems to care more than he let's on as he tries to convince Rose she'll get better, a false lie but a better one than not. He finds Jules, wanting to attack her but instead sits down at her table and asks how to cure a werewolf bite. She taunts him instead, mentioning how much pain Rose will be in and that dementia will set in eventually. He ends up following Rose as she attacks people, he pins her down and comforts her as she realizes what she's done. He takes her back home to the Salvatore Mansion. Damon puts her back in his bed, and reacts coldly to Elena's presence. He also snaps at Rose, denying that he cares about her. When Rose tells Elena that having humanity haunts her, he is surprised when her body betrays her and begins writhing in pain.

Damon tells Elena to leave, and he gets in bed with Rose. He sends her a beautiful dream of them sitting in a meadow where she grew up as a youth. She tells him she isn't afraid of dying anymore, then wants to race with him. She says she's stronger and faster than him, she'll win. On the count of three, it doesn't even reach two before he stakes her in the outside world to end her suffering. Elena then confronts him and says she knows he cared for Rose. He gets angry and admits he did, saying he does have feelings and it sucks. Elena hugs him and his eyes water. He almost hugs back but he's too upset to do anything but stand there. Later on, he stops a woman on the road and plays with her. He admits he misses being human, and that he'll kill her. He compels her to leave before he hurts her but changes his mind at the last second and drains her dry. Obviously too distraught over the whole ordeal.

Damon is angry when Stefan brings John back to Mystic Falls to help Elena. When his brother tries to comfort him about Rose's death, he reacts like an ass and leaves. He goes to Elena's and wants to know John's location. Elena decides to go with him, out of concern that Damon will harm him. They find John at the grill, he tries to get information out of John, even threatening his life since he doesn't have the resurrection ring. Jenna tries setting him up with Andie Star, he blows her off. After a call from Stefan about Tyler, Elena and Damon have a debate about what to do about the young man because of his nature and what he knows. Elena tells Damon to be a better man.

When John arrives to stop them from talking, Damon asks John to keep an eye on Elena while he goes after Caroline Forbes, who is being held captive by Jules and another werewolf. Stefan and Damon are almost killed during the rescue, but Jonas Martin rescues them in the nick of time. Later that night, Damon invites Andie Star to his house and the two of them share a bubble bath. Damon tells her that he loves a woman he can never have and doesn't trust himself around anyone. He tells her that he kills humans, and then compels her not to be scared. When asked why he kills people, he admits he likes it and Elena wants him to be a better man but his nature won't allow it. Damon then bites her and fills the bathtub with blood.

Andie is still around, and Damon invites himself to a Historical society tea party that she's going to and Elijah will be at. He tells Alaric about the dagger, and Alaric says that he will be at the party too. His current motive isn't to kill him but to meet him. At the party, Damon meets up with Andie and introduces himself to himself to Elijah, which they hadn't had the pleasure of doing so before. Damon and Elijah have a conversation alone, where Damon questions his plots but Elijah stabs him in the neck with a pencil.

Damon returns home, where he and Alaric talk about how it'll be hard to kill Elijah. When Alaric leaves, he finds him stabbed in the stomach with a stake and then someone jumps on him, injecting him with Vervain. It turns out that Jules is the one leading the attack, she chains him to a chair, and questions him about the Moon Stone. Elijah shows up and kills the wolves, but Jules flees. He saves Damon's life a third time. Later on the phone with Bonnie, he's told that Elena's deal with Elijah means her dying. He also tells Stefan this.

Damon plots a dinner party at the Salvatore Mansion, invites Elijah and plans on killing him there. He goes to visit Katherine at the tomb since he leave freely, he gives her clothes and blood because he wants to know if what John Gilbert said about Elijah is true. Katherine tells him that if Elijah dies, she'll be stuck in the tomb forever. So, it is possible to kill an original. Later, as Damon is about to kill Elijah, Alaric stops him in time because as it turns out, he'll die too for using the dagger. When they return to the living room, Damon tries to convince Elijah to kill John and that puts Elijah on the defensive. He threatens to take Elena away and protect her himself, so neither of them will see her again. Alaric makes a surprise attack and stabs Elijah with the dagger, and they lock him in the basement. However, they remove the dagger, and Damon gets a call from Stefan telling him that removing the dagger will bring him back to life. Damon panicks, runs downstairs and finds Elijah missing.

Damon however gets the upper hand, and stabs Elijah once more. Taking him to the basement and careful not to remove the dagger this time. He finds the Moon Stone on Elijah and keeps it this time. Elena then tells him and his brother that they can't keep things from her anymore if they want her to keep fighting. Damon and Stefan agree that they'll do it her way. Later he finds Katherine in his shower, and she reveals killing Elijah helped remove the spell he had over her. She wants to help them.

Elena is leaving the house in the morning, but Damon attacks her, knowing she's Katherine. Which prompts Stefan to ask what's going on and it's revealed that it is indeed Katherine. The she-bitch tries convincing him that she wants Klaus dead just as much as they do. She didn't care that he would have died, long as she got out of the tomb. Damon remains in the house with Katherine, he's trying to find out where the witch stake ground was. Later, Luka Martin during a spell, enters the Salvatore Mansion and Katherine senses something. She follows the trail around the house, and finds the dagger being removed by an invisible force. She fights with the force to keep it inside Elijah's chest, Damon comes to her rescue after she's staked in the stomach and uses the blow torch to burn whatever it is alive.

He later gives Katherine a blood bag, then stabs her for not telling him that the dagger would kill him too. She tells him that John and Isobel want Damon and Stefan out of Elena's life. He knew that killing Elijah would get her out of the tomb, so Katherine h ad a choice: she must stay and help them with Klaus or kill Stefan. She chose Stefan. Damon tries to go help Elena when Jonas goes after her, but Katherine stops him, insisting that she take Elena's place and kill Jonas. She does exactly as planned and argues with Elena afterward. Later Katherine jumps into his bed, nearly naked. Damon wonders how everyone knew Emily Bennett was a witch back then. He then finds out Katherine was the one who exposed her and she reveals she knows where the witches were burned, because he would've been there. She then attempts kissing him, but he pushes her away, telling her go find somewhere else to sleep. Katherine's hold on him is obviously fading.

Later, Stefan and Damon discuss what Isobel wants with Elena. Damon, Bonnie and Jeremy go to the witch Burial Ground, where an old mansion is. When he enters, he's immobilized by the spirits there, forcing him into the sunlight and deflecting the spell put upon his ring as he burns. He decides to leave right away since the deceased witches don't like him, leaving Jeremy and Bonnie alone to do thigs together. Carol and Liz call him to let him know John was killed at one of the social gatherings. He goes there and tells them John wears a special ring that will bring him back to life.

Then, Stefan makes a panicked phone call to Damon, telling him Katherine took the Moon Stone from the soap dish, where he cleverly hid it. He goes where Katherine may be hiding and finds Isobel's bags still there. Katherine, Elena and the Moon Stone are all missing, so he's quietly panicking underneath the surface. After Elena is released and Isobel dies, Damon gives up the deed to the house and has Elena put it in her name so it's a safe haven for her. Only she can invite people in. Bonnie is also now they're card up their sleeve since she's harnessing the powers of hundreds of dead witches.

Elena receives a message from Klaus, and that makes the brothers ask Alaric to put Damon on the list as Chaperone for the dance. At the dance, Damon dances with Elena and gets himself a few chuckles despite the situation. He then dances with Bonnie as he heard her and Jeremy talking earlier. He wants to know if there's any way to keep her alive after killing Klaus. After Klaus reveals himself, Damon sends Elena with Stefan and plots with Bonnie to make it looked like she died, so Klaus won't kill her. When they get back to the house, Elena slaps him and accuses him if knowing it would happen but Damon doesn't get angry for once. He explains to her calmly that it was a ruse to save Bonnie's life. Stefan is upset but Damon says that it keeps their cards in play and he'll protect Elena regardless of the cost. Elena later visits him in his room, telling him she won't let anyone die for her especially Bonnie and Damon tells her he's willing to let anyone die for her because he'll always choose her life over anyone else's.

Down the line, Damon follows Stefan down to the basement, where they discover that Elena has brought Elijah back to life. He's convinced that Elena will get herself killed and is resolute in going after Elena no matter the consequence. He and Andie go to Klaus' apartment, where Katherine is being held, he can't be invited in so he talks to Katherine through the door and holds a bottle of Vervain out to her that he's willing to trade for information. He wants to know why she turned on them and Isobel. She admits she knew they couldn't kill Klaus, and points out where that betrayal got her. Damon gives her the Vervain, then returns to Elena and finds her trying to leave again. He restrains her but Stefan stops him. Andie tries to comfort him, but he sends her away. Stefan sarcastically thanks him for being in love with Elena, if it only means she'll be protected. The two get into a fight, Stefan claims he has one thing that Damon will never have, Elena's respect.

Elena appears with Elijah and stops them, explaining that Elijah knows a way to bring her back to life after Klaus takes her for the sacrifice. He'll also leave Damon and Stefan alone, no harm will come to them if they apologize. Stefan acquiesces to these terms but Damon tells him go to hell and become angry. He finds Andie nearly naked in his room, she tries to comfort him, he tells her to leave him alone but she tells him she cares for him and he bites her. He then feels guilty and asks her to leave again before he accidentally kills her. He stares after her with tear filled eyes.

Damon suggests that they go through the original plan of Bonnie killing him, but Elena doesn't want that to happen because it'll kill Bonnie. Damon crudely says he'll write her good Eulogy. Eljiah however reveals that Klaus will have to complete the ritual and Damon becomes angry, saying the Elixir won't work. Elena comes to his room later, to assure him that he won't lose her, he forces her to drink his blood and Stefan stabs him in the stomach with a stake for taking Elena's choice away to be a vampire or not. Later Damon goes to the bar, were he's approached by Klaus, who tells him doing anything stupid to protect Elena will end bad for him and that the ritual will take place that night.

Damon doesn't care about Klaus' warnings, he always does things his own way and does exactly what he wants to do. He visits Katherine to get the location of the vampire and werewolf, he finds out it's Tyler and Caroline. He's almost stopped by the warlock guarding the tomb but Matt kills him. Damon knocks Matt unconscious after Matt turns the rifle on him. Damon rescues Caroline and Tyler, along with Matt and as they're running through the woods, trying to escape, Damon receives a phonecall from Stefan. Elena has been taken by Klaus, and then Tyler is in the middle of transformation. Meaning Damon and Caroline are both in danger. Tyler goes for Caroline but Damon blocks him, getting a bite to his forearm.

Damon goes straight to Alaric's apartment, where Klaus has been staying. He gloats about what he's done to keep Klaus from completeing the ritual but Klaus has back ups, and that means Damon might be of use to him afterall, he alludes that Damon might be the vampire but Damon wakes up to find out that Klaus didn't take him. Katherine apologizes for what Klaus made her do, getting Jenna to meet in the forest and turning her into a vampire. Katherine asks him about the bite on his arm and Damon admits it's a werewolf bite, which means he knows he's pretty much dead.

Damon and Katherine remain in the apartment. Katherine seems upset that he'll die but Damon reacts coldly because she saved herself instead of Jenna. He then goes back home, and is in pain from the bite as he opens the door for John. He tells him that Klaus has Elena, but since she has blood in her system, she'll be a vampire once it's over. He's there for the conversation about transferring John's lifeforce into Elena's body so she doesn't have to become a vampire. Leaving Jeremy and Alaric behind, Bonnie, Stefan and Damon get to the ritual site, where Damon retrieves Elena's body and takes her back to the witch house to be by her side. When Alaric asks about Jenna, Damon gives him a forlorn look and a sincere apology. When Elena comes back to life, he's elated that she's not a vampire and that she's alright. Utterly relieved by this. He attends the funeral for John and Jenna, he tells his brother about the werewolf bite and knows he'll die soon, but he doesn't want Elena to know, because he doesn't want her to grieve another loss.

Damon needs Elena's forgiveness, so he goes to her house to ask for it. Elena denies him the request, and says she needs time which he genuinely agrees to. He returns home and tries to commit suicide by taking off his sunlight ring and standing in front of the window. Just as he starts to burn, Stefan tackles him to the ground and Stefan traps him in the basement. He begins hallucinating about Katherine, and the choices he made while they were together. Alaric comes to visit and Damon tries antagonizing him into killing him, but Alaric refuses despite the pain Damon is in. he collapses to the ground, whispering Elena's name.

Sheriff Forbes makes a plan of attack, and rages into the Salvatore Mansion when Elena shows up. They end up setting Damon free, and he roams the streets hallucinating and dying all at once. Jeremy finds him and tries to help, as Sheriff Forbes finds Damon, she tries to shoot him but ends up killing Jeremy instead. Damon moves behind the screen of the movie and Elena shows up. He hallucinates about Katherine and ends up biting Elena's neck. He realizes what he's done and collapses once more.

Elena and Damon talk for awhile back in his room, Damon is worried he'll become like Rose but Elena won't leave him. She holds his head to her chest and Damon talks about all the bad things he has done, he tells Elena to say sorry to Stefan for him, saying he deserves to die after everuything he's done. He apologizes to Elena and tells her he loves her. He then says she would have liked him better when he was human but she responds she likes him now. She kisses him as he seems to be passing out and Katherine shows up with the cure. Which they find out Stefan paid for by giving himself to Klaus as a henchman. She tells Elena it's okay to love both brothers, because she did. Damon drinks the cure and is healed.

After a long shower to wash off the sweatiness, he wakes up in Sanctum. Weird things on his back but he has his sunlight ring and something wear, so there's that. he just wants to know why he's here and for what purpose.

Other Notables: I'm a budding Damon player, so you'll have to forgive me for any mishaps. I hope to get better with time. Thank you.

SAMPLES

NETWORK SAMPLE: It looks like I'm stuck here, whereever here is. Can't find my infuriating baby brother, or Elena anywhere. Not even Vampire Barbie or Wolf boy. Looks like I'm on my own. Which is great and everything because I don't want to be bothered but where's the alcohol? Anyone know where to get a nice bourbon? I could go for a drink right now while I figure out why I'm here and for what purpose. I don't trust this place, nope, not even a quarter of an inch.

LOG SAMPLE: Being a vampire was hard at first, he remembered the earlier days of being ravenous with hunger, every heartbeat and every breath from a human set him off in some way but he always had self-control. These days it was easier, you learned to ignore things like that overtime, unless you wanted to be in the know about those things. He rejoiced in being a vampire, it meant a lot to him, and he probably wouldn't give it up for anything. Mostly because he had come to accept that it meant he would live young and carefree forever.

He wouldn't admit it to anyone, not even Elena who tried to get him to see that he had emotions and that they sometimes ruled him like an iron fist but he missed Alaric. He hadn't been into the Mystic Grill since he died, and he thought it might be strange to see a place where they both had frequented together, drinking into the odd hours of the day or night while they sat in silence or discussed topics that no one else got. Alaric had been a bestfriend, a drinking blood and a good person.

Like Elena, he had been a light in the world that Damon needed. He put up with all his bullshit and called him out on it when shit got tough. Alaric had saw something good in him too and hadn't given up when Damon made an ass of himself. He'd probably never have that again from a male counterpart, only from Elena. He wanted to drown in his sorrows, possibly drink well into the night and then find a warm and willing body that wanted to have a good time. Sex was a fanfuckingtastic invention, whatever higher being had the thought to do it, had the best mind possible.

He walked into the bar, barely glancing around as he made his way to the bar. He caught the scent of someone familiar, but the scent was different now too. Elena. He turned his bright blue eyes on her and stopped a second just to look. What was she doing here and at the bar? Vampire or not, she was still under the legal drinking age. Not that he'd stop her, he'd willing give her alcohol if she asked for it but he doubted with a town the size of Mystic Falls that the bartender that knew her, would even give her a drink. This wasn't like Hot Fuzz, where Mystic Falls was all zombie like with Slogans and words like 'For the greater good.'

Scratch that, Mystic Falls was exactly like that with the council, even though the council was now a thing of the past. Blown up and all into teeny tiny pieces. He still wondered who made that horror show happen, it looked like he'd eventually have to investigate. Finally he moved from his spot, he wasn't afraid to approach Elena, it was more lately he was afraid of how he felt for her would get in the way of their friendship. They did the right thing by not talking about it and honestly, right now, she needed a friend. Not some guy's brother who had a raging hard on for her. He slid into a stool beside her, signaling the bartender over with two fingers waving “Double Bourbon, no ice.”

He turned his eyes on her as his drink came and took a long sip before looking away. “I see you're not with Stefan, learning the goody two shoes vampire diet of rabbits and waves.” He resented Stefan a little for making Elena go that route, she'd be weak like Stefan if she lived on a vegetarian vampire diet and that meant she couldn't protect herself if him or his brother couldn't do it for her. She needed to be top notch and in order to do that, she needed human blood.
